The Children's Rainforest USA is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization incorporated in Maine, estabished to promote awareness of and education about rainforest, and to channel contributions to preserve undistributed tropical rainforest in Costa Rica. The Children's Rainforest USA works cooperatively with the Monteverde Conservation League. The MCL buys and protects rainofrest in northern Costa Rica, and carries out local education. A non-profit organization of Costa Ricans and northern Americans, the league is recognized by and works with agencies of the government of Costa Rica, the World Wildlife Fund, and Nature Conservancy. Bosque Enterno de los Ninos is a lush tropical rainforest managed by the Monteverde Conservation League. It has been created by funds contributed by children of Europe, Canada, Japan, Costa Rica, and the United States. Over 22,000 acres have been purchased, and another 21,000acres will be added. Currently, $100 purchases 1 acre. Donations to the Children's Rainforest USA go directly to the MCL for land purchase. Donors (35$ or more) receive an illustrated certificate and the MCL's newsletter. I invite you to participate in the effort to save this beautiful piece of earth! "Rainfores: Educational Resources" is now available. This 22-page booklet lists materials to help educators present the topic of rainforest, including books for all ages, newsletters, teachers' guides and audiovisual materials. The cost of the resource guide is $3.00.
